Step 1: Change the Default Category for Posts
1. Log in to WordPress and in the left-hand menu go to Settings > Writing
2. Scroll down the resulting page and change the “Default Post Category” from “Uncategorized” to another category.
3. At the bottom of the page press Save Changes
Step 2: Delete the Uncategorized Category
1. In the left-hand menu go to Posts > Categories
2. On the resulting page, scroll over the Uncategorized category and you will see 3 options appear including Delete.
3. And the last, Delete the category
